Although the Wii sucking balls has nothing to do with it having an Ati chip (as the HD4870×2 and the HD4870 are pretty radical cards, although beat by GTX295, which i own, and GTX285, or so I believe), the facts that it’s graphics suck and that the whole experience is dragged down to the level of mediocre only because of this HUGE issue, specially due to it’s half-assed resolution, remain. Then the Wiimote, with it’s absolute lack of accuracy and battery-draining habit, and the complete lackluster of at least somewhat good games, drag the Wii’s potential through the mud. Some say it sucks because it’s a new concept. Okay. It still costs 200-250 bucks, so fuck it. The fact that it is a piece of inaccurate shit with horrible games and half-decent ones that are just half-assed sequels to games we played more than 5 years ago still remains (Melee=Brawl, Metroid P. 3 = MP1&2, Zelda Twilight Princess IS A FUCKING GAMECUBE GAME, etc.) The fact that the wiimote, the fact that the ONLY “good” thing the Wii had, the reason the wii costs 200 to 250 bucks SUCKS SHIT, is supported by the creation of the WiiMotion Plus, A.K.A. a quickly released gimmick that serves the purpose to create the illusion that the Wiimote won’t suck anymore as well as to fatten their arks with your money. Nice one, Nintendo. I’d rather play my Gamecube, N64 or fuck, even back to the SNES for that old, sweet and HARDCORE Final Fight 3!
I am in no way defending the 360 or Ps3, as the 360 is unstable as hell and Microsoft keeps leeching money off consumers with XBL, and both consoles are massively overpriced as I can get a computer that absolutely obliterates both systems in terms of performance with a mere 400 bucks. However, as a Ps3 owner, I must said that paying 600 bucks for it (I have the 60Gb HDD version) was slightly justified by the games library, as MGS4, HAZE (despite the massive ammount of bad reviews), Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma (and probably upcoming NGS2), Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Time Crisis 4 (which comes with a 100% accurate G-Con3 that eats up no batteries, sucks for the shitty wiimote), Sonic Unleashed, Gran Turismo 5 (or at least Prologue so far) all make fantastic games. Besides, there are some problems to be had and some very advanced troubleshooting to be done when playing current-gen PC games. Both the 360 and Ps3, even though provide lower resolutions and worse graphics that the best PCs, save you from all this trouble (If we don’t count the 360’s tendency to commit suicide). They make pretty decent pieces of hardware although very overpriced in both cases (Wouldn’t say this for the 360 if it didn’t have so many issues. Dvd bay killing your games, overheating, RROD…), but are absolute pieces of state of the art technology when compared to the Wii, which is on top of it massively overpriced.
What a shame, Nintendo. What a shame. Betraying your most hardcore fanbase, part of which I was until this act of treachery.
I forgot to mention that I don’t know about the latest 360’s being made. I have heard that RROD is fixed in the latest models. If this is true, that’s a huge step forward. If they have also fixed (or plan to fix) the DVD bay destroying your games, then I must say that the 360 is (or will be whenever the bay is fixed) a pretty good deal. I am still happier with my PS3 as I like it’s exclusives better and it’s much more powerful (Yes, much more. However, exploiting the power of the CELL is incredibly difficult, so devs tend to believe it’s not worth it. Let’s hope TRICO follows the Shadow of the Colossus example). However, I will never say that, in proportion, my console was as worth it for the price as theirs, as the pricetag for the 360 is very adequate and offers a great deal of amazing experiences. If only XBL was free!

Rukumouru is a dumbass since he probably never saw the graphics for the 360 and ps3. They have HD the wii does not. If you saw the graphics for RE darkside the graphics are blurry since there is no HD. The wii will never surpass 360 and ps3. So really you got no point there.

I dont know a single good wii game, its all for little kids. They havent made a single good adult game. There are no good titles for it either except for Super Smash Bros. Sept that, they all blow…bad. I’d rather shoot myself in the foot or have hitler come back from the dead than buy a wii. Seriously.

The way, way better graphics than the Wii that the 360 and PS3 offer also make their production costs much higher. My only complaints about the Wii are that most of it’s games suck (doesn’t mean there’s some jewels to find out there, but VERY few. It’s plagued by a disastrous library), and that it’s MASSIVELY OVERPRICED FOR THE TECHNOLOGY IT OFFERS. Motion sensors so primitive (they even need to fix them with the Wiimotion Plus? What a joke!) don’t cost so damned much. Just compare it’s price with the 360’s price tag. I dare you to tell me the 360’s technology isn’t way better (and thusly, more expensive) than what the Wii has in stock. The games being fun have nothing to do with the system it is on. However, the Wii as a whole FOR AS LONG AS THE PRICE TAG IS SO FREAKIN’ HIGH, is a piece of shit of a system. The GC went down to 99€ (i’m European) in absolutely no time. Given that the Game Cube’s technology is old as shit, if GCs were still being made, i’d expect them to be no more than 30-40€ (Yes, I am implying that the PS2 is also an insanely overpriced piece of shit right now, and so are the PSP GO and the DSi. Adding a couple of new little gimmicks doesn’t double the price. I remember I bought my PSP for 100 bucks. What makes the PSP GO cost 250$ then? THE LACK OF UMD DRIVE? ‘Cause 16GB of internal memory IS NOT WORTH 150 BUCKS. What a joke) meaning that the Wii, which boasts almost exactly the same hardware as the GameCube (Same graphics chip, slightly, VERY SLIGHTLY more powerful processor so it can maintain graphics while it does Motion Sensing-related operations) should be worth no more than 100$. Maybe even 150$, i’d accept that as a mild overprice. But 200-250$? Are you insane?
Also, I hear people say that Mario Galaxy looks like an early 360 game in 480p. Well, I remember StarFox Adventures to look about the same, if not better, and it was a Gamecube title. Not to mention Shadow of the Colossus, that game was also the tits and it was for the piece of shit Ps2.
In response to the avobe comment by “you guys are dumb”, yes, the GameCube kicked the PS2’s ass in almost every aspect- it even cost significantly less! Who ever said the ps2 stood a chance against the GC? Not only it had significantly better graphics (specially evident in textures, I may add) and it had a spectacular game library. The only reason I don’t consider the ORIGINAL Xbox superior to the GC is it’s relatively lacking library.
The fact that Nintendo is printing money by selling not one, but two pieces of shit (The PSP GO, although very overpriced, has a very simmilar price tag to that of the DSi. This, and the fact that the PSP’s processor, graphics processor unit, internal memory, connectivity capabilities (wi-fi+BT) and screen resolution are MUCH superior to those of the DSi, the DSi’s price tag becomes humongously overpriced, much more so than the PSP Go, thus becoming a stinkier piece of shit than it’s Sony competitor) remains, and you can bitch all you want about it. You still had your money stolen.
As a side note to “you guys are dumb”, The Conduit? Seriously? Have you ever even heard of BLACK for the PS2? Not to mention that all three Metroid Primes for home consoles (GC and Wii ones) look much better to me. The textures don’t strike me as half as muddy as the ones seen in The Conduit. Also, as I comment in my previous post, see Star Fox Adventures (GC) or even Mario Sunshine (That game was the tits and the water looked incredibly good for it’s time) and Shadow of the Colossus (Ps2). And don’t give me the “Wii’s true potential isn’t unveiled yet” crap ’cause it’s, in essence, a Game Cube. The only difference it has (aside from motion sensors, of course) is the little boost of processing power WHICH IS USED TO MANAGE IN-GAME OS (the little OS it has in-game, you know, the Wiimote options, battery indicator and built-in speaker adjustments) AND TO INTERPRET INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SENSOR BAR AND THE WIIMOTES ACCELEROMETERS. That, and to be able to handle the Wiiconect24 thing that keeps your weather and news gimmicks updated 24/7 and (rarely) might burn your Wii.
Um, maybe you don’t know this, but the Warioware graphics are SUPPOSED to be cartoony because that’s the type of GAME it is. The Wii is better than the other systems because it lets you actually move and do stuff, instead of pressing buttons. Plus, it is a lot easier to do stuff like memorize controls because of muscle memory, which hardly applies to how far your thumb moves.
The Wii has ass graphics because most of the games on the crap system were meant to suck in the first place, so people don’t bother to polish the games.
My Game Cube has better graphics. If they make a F-ZERO for Wii man thats gonna suck if u have use the Wii wheel. The Blood Hawk gose up to over a thousand mph.
I don’t want a Wii or a Xbox 360 so the only system I can have is the PS3. AMD has to get less popular than Intel and nVidia.

Trust me I hate the wii mostly because I own one and have come to realize how much it sucks, but that doesen’t mean their isen’t atleast 1 game out there that is worth while for example for those of you that say that their isen’t any mature games out there then you have probably never played no more heroes-there will be a sequel to this awsome game- or mad world,by way those two games are better than most 360 and ps3 games, and House of the Dead Overkill was awsome(Mike just has a bad taste for games), I personaly like to hear and see lots of vulgarity and gore in my games thank you very much, but unfortunetly those are the only 3 good games on the wii unless you like mario wich I do Mario galaxy and brawl are amazing.

Like “lets not exaggerate,” I hate the wii because I own one but I hate all Wii games. If I didn’t have a Wii, I would have a Fast PC with the new Core i7 instead of having to get a Core 2-Based PC so I can have HD videos fresh from my PC faster.

ATi is better than nVidia. They just went low end with this chip. And having an ATi has nothing to do with it having bad graphics. I’ve got an ATi in my PC, and everything looks better on the PC. But even the low end nVidia is better than the wii’s graphics.

AMD makes bad CPUs and they fail if I don’t have the IDE cable plugged in to the hard drive. I have a old PC with a AMD Chip. Hoshiburu wants me to use a slow pc.

Yeah, I’m sure Xbox 360 graphics suck. Grow the fuck up and use REAL reasons why ATi sucks, and you must have a low AMD chip, as I have an AMD PHENOM II in my pc and it is FAST. And 360 has an ATi chip and look at it. Decent isn’t it? Please delete this site and get off the internet, or at least this article. One chip = SUCK. Others = PWN That is all.
this is a complete load of bollocks, i have owned many nvidias and ati’s and have never noticed any difference between them. they both play decent games for their time, are about as reliable as each other, image quality is the same and the software is pretty much identical. the best thing to do is just buy the most powerful card for your money. ive got a 4870 now, great, before that i had a geforce 6200 and so long as i stuck to what it was capable of, it was a good card.
there is no need to get so fanboyish over graphics cards because no matter who you buy it off of it is still a graphics card.
Graphics and content does not a game make. Gameplay is everything. I suppose it would be bad if the graphics were “make my eye’s bleed” bad, but the Wii focuses on Gameplay rather than graphics.

Well, ATI does not suck as much after the Radeon 5000 cards w/ DX11 got released, and nVidia cancelled some video cards because of the recession.
Yes… The Wii graphics suck, but ATi’s graphics are better than those of nVida (Dollar for dollar anyways). Both companies make great cards, but nVidia’s are overpriced The graphics chip in the Wii was made by ATI, but it only costs about $60 (That’s pocket change in today’s world of $500+ cards) Even if nVida made the Wii’s card it would suck. On a related note: I have owned 3 rigs with an ATi cards and 2 with nVida cards since Vista was released (I help build PC’s friends) and only one of nVida systems (Using a 9800GTX) broke. All of them were DX 10. ATi crossfire x4 5870’s is the most powerful graphics array possible right now.
Who the hell wants to buy ATI shity cards…..with tons of problems with their drivers and every new game with a new driver problem…some games work some just crash with no reason, some games preform well others will have lower FPS than your old card for no fucked up reason…..the facts are straight, ATI has TONS more customers complaining about their products than nvidia does. My last shity ATI is the 5850 and i can assure you its the worst ATI card ever built, with crashes on starting games too crashes and lockups when just watching a simple youtube video, i had 0 problems with my GTX 260 and all you hear from the frustrated fanbois is ” THE DRIVER IS STILL NOT MATURE” what in fucks name is that supposed to mean?????? why sell a product when its fukin software is still not finished???? and to those idiots that keep saying that the 5xxx are the most powerful cards out there…all i can tell you GO BUY ONE and see for your self. Another proof is that Wii Hollywood is capable of HDR+AA in real time graphics and has shown it in Monter Hunter 3, Resident Evil DarkSide Chronicles, Cursed Mountain, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, etc; and only starting from ATI x1000 series HDR+AA was not possible because HDR is a very heavy operation so much that not even the Nvidia 7 series were capable of it

I also forgot to mention that the ATI x1000 sereies were the first ATI Radeons that were capable of GPGPU natively.
And of course, another irrefutable proof of Wii Hollywood being capable of GPGPU is that it makes use of Havok FX for physics in the Hollywood and not the CPU.
