Wii Specs
Wii Internal Memory – The Wii’s internal memory only comes with 512 MB. Compare that with the 20, 60, or 120 gigs of the Xbox 360, and the Wii has 0.41% – 2.5% the capacity of its rivals. The internal memory of the Wii is used to hold games downloaded from the Virtual Console, saved game data, and other misc. It’s a good thing the Wii doesn’t support playback/storage of CDs or DVDs, or that 512 MB would be used up in the first 30 minutes. As is, with only 512 MB of internal memory, it is likely you will have to purchase a plug in SD card for expanded room.
Wii Network – The Wii comes with Wi-Fi capability. This is great for users who already have a wireless network in their house, but how about people who don’t? Those users must spend more money to purchase a Nintendo approved USB to Ethernet adapter. Yet another way to scrape money out of users.
Wii Friends – Want to add friends to your friendlist on the Wii? The process is a bit much. You must go to your configuration menu and get your “friend code” id for your Wii. Then you must tell your friends your unique code through a different medium other than the Wii (email, phone, text, etc). They must also give you their friend code. After you enter their friend code in your Wii and they enter your code, you can now be friends and send messages through the Wii messenger system. Long process? For each game you wish to play with your friends, you will do something similar. Try keeping pen and paper out with all of your friend codes on it.
